Age Based Understanding

Age Based Understanding discusses children’s developmental understanding of illness and death. Children of different ages understand different concepts relating to illness and death. Age, along with past experience, emotional development, and the environment can influence a child’s understanding of events such as illness and death. In this section, we discuss children’s understanding of concepts surrounding illness in four stages based on their age, and children’s understanding of concepts surrounding death in five stages based on their age.
